BECOME AN APPRAISER
Appraisers are the trained volunteers who score team solutions and provide feedback at DI tournaments. They're a critical part of making every tournament run smoothly — and it's a genuinely fun way to see student creativity up close.
WHAT APPRAISERS DO
- ›Score team solutions using official DI scoring criteria
- ›Work in a team of adult volunteers to award teams as many points as possible
- ›Provide a supportive, encouraging environment for competing teams
TIME COMMITMENT
- ›One training day (typically held each season)
- ›One tournament day at your local or regional tournament
- ›Many appraisers volunteer on behalf of a school or team
Training: Appraiser Training for both new and experienced appraisers is offered each season, typically in February. Watch the calendar and your regional communications for dates.
